Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry

The time of season to reflect upon the blessings we received from the Almighty. I am blessed that I have a husband who is so good to me and a giver to my wants. There is so much to thank for. I am so happy that I have him in my life. He will always be there for me no matter what.

When I read about Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry I am up to it. I pity reading the messages from the soldiers. It melts my heart to imagine the families of these soldiers. I have few friends that their husbands are soldiers. I have a heart for them for I know they protect our country and help to achieve peace. Chaos is very popular in the Middle East now and others. These soldiers are fighting for their might to be alive and promote peace. One way to support them is giving them gifts for the holidays. At my company we are sending them some goods to help them in some way and these soldiers were writing back to us too. It’s very good to read their messages of saying thanks. Please do give them their wishes by making a donation to help their families who they have left behind. It is the right time to share what we have. No matter how the small contributions you can give, it is worth giving. Spread this word to your friends and family. This will generate a number of donations we can get. This is the time to share and a time to give thanks for the blessings.

Plans for the Holiday

My birthday is coming not for long now. I miss hosting a party. The last time I did was when I was in my 2nd year here in the country. I invited few people and it was a good party. I had expected people and they made my day. This coming birthday, I am not yet so sure if I will have it held here in the house. It is one of the possibilities. I don't know if people will come or like the idea of it. But I have to ask first my husband if it's okay. I am not sure of myself too if I would want one. I want my birthday and christmas to be memorable. Perhaps throwing a party can be a good idea.

When you talk about travel, I would definitely tell you a lot of things. I love to travel different places. Travel is my passion. I had been to places where I had dreamed of. There are more places that I haven’t travel yet. If there is an opportunity where I could get travel for free, it will be an immediate positive response. I will be the number one person for the job. When I read about Larry the Travel Guy website, it fascinated me thinking about it. To be a travel blogger could be one of my possible dreams I want to achieve in the future. I had been writing my thoughts for the past years in places where I went. It was so interesting to write about what each country has to offer. I can always imagine in a place and write notes when get the chance.

Black Friday

I didn't do much shopping yesterday. I just did shopping online. I don't want to be in the store lining up to get in and buy items in madness. I bought one item that I feel that is very important since I just bought few days ago my very first DSLR. I was so happy to get it online in a bargain. I can't wait to know it's functionality. Now I am imagining things what I can do with the camera and used it's maximum potential.

Last year, my hubby bought me the laptop I am using right now. Every year it's like I am having a new toy. Well, I believe I deserved to get one. I am sure hubby will agree on that. LOL! This year I bought some toys and other stuff I didn't have. I want to thank hubby for that too.

Charter Ultimate Bundle

I went shopping around for the past days. I had purchased a gift for myself and accessories that I like. It was a very convenient shop where I just did it online. Many things to ponder upon as to what items are very necessary to buy and the recent purchased is one of them.

Black friday is over but Cyber Monday is not with Charter. They are offering variety of services that is so low in comparison to the many existing phone and cable companies has. If you are currently suffering from a high bill with less service, it is time to switch now. If limited services is you complaint about, look no further. Charter is offering Charter’s Ultimate Bundle where the cost is only $165.97.

Banner__bf08_300x250_google

I just recently switch to a new service now and I have regrets on that. I should have wait and read on this site while I was shopping around. If you are in the shopping mood right now and wanted to change your services and bundled it into one, don’t miss to skip Charter. Their bundles are very competitive. The services includes high speed internet, unlimited calling, cable TV where it has additional services like premium channels like Sports View, Digital View, HBO/Cinemax, Startz/Encore and Showtime/The Movie Channel. This price is so cheap compare to what I am paying right now. Don’t be like me. The best holiday deal is online right now for bundled services. It has the best price available. You will get a free gift card and a chance to win Xbox gaming systems too. Don’t wait, order now!

Gift for myself

What can I say I just bought my all time favorite DSLR from Nikon. With the use of money from blogging and some hard earned savings, finally I was able to buy what I want. It's not the latest but it's my favorite. I am not a professional photographer. I just love taking pictures a lot. With this powerful gadget and photoshop software, my photos can be so great especially that I am planning to get my business running in the near future. I am thankful that hubby is so understanding about my hobby and the plan of buying it. Soon you will see some captured moments of my camera. I am still waiting for it at this time.

Staying Home For the Holidays

The moved was tiring so hubby and I decided not to spend a get away trip for Thanksgiving. Or probably it could change but not certain. I rather stay in the house unpack our boxes and re- arrange the things that right now hasn't moved for days. I would want the things to be tidy for the coming days. Christmas is coming and I want to open the holidays with positive spirit. I don't know if I will handle a party for my birthday yet. I will talk to hubby first if we would want to. I guess I need a trip somewhere. I want to relax and just be with nature.

Unpacking Time

The move was a success yesterday. The 2 gentlemen from Bekins company really made a good job on getting our things safely transfered to a near location. They worked really hard and they saved us our effort. We were happy to get their services and we will going to hire them again to get the rest of our stuff in a storage unit. So it will be the next project in the near weeks. I took some pictures with the boxes that scattered around in the area spaces in the house. So much things to do in the near days. But it's fun decorating the empty spaces. We'll see how can I make the house neat, tidy and inviting. These are just some of the boxes that scattered but there are really more than what the pictures looks like.

Big Move Today

It's almost 9am, I showered, dressed and now waiting for hubby to do more packing. He is at his job right now printing some label. We had numbered our boxes as to where it will go in the house. We thought that his could be easy to sort things and unpack later. For 8 days, at most days and nights that we had the time, we kept on packing our things. No matter how tired we were, we pushed ourselves to finish all of it there is to pack. Majority we did pack all. The moving company will be here at 12noon and that's the time we will start loading stuff and travel just 2 blocks away to unload. I hope for more strength today.

Sears Black Friday Sale

When I arrived here in the US, Thanksgiving is pretty much new to me. My husband told me the story and I would say it was very interesting for me to know all about it. One thing that caught my attention was the many stores that will be doing sale on that day. I had purchased my laptop last year on the night of the first sale. I was so happy to get it. This year, I could probably get another thing again. There are a lot of stores that I go and check on that day and Sears is one of them.

The good thing about the coming holidays is that we can buy things on sale. Instead of paying an item in full amount we can get it for big discounts. That’s what makes it very interesting. People get excited to see and love to shop. How can anyone not to like it? You can get great bargain prices from 30-50% mark down. When it’s on sale people likes to check and when the price is right they will buy. It’s a reasonable thing to do to budget the money.

The big fuss right now is Sears Black Friday Sale. They have so many products in bigger discounts to choose from. I am excited to get in line and buy one. The last time I went there I bought a suit bag where I got it for a really good price. I like going there. Right now they have products that you can really save more. If you are looking for digital camera, Samsung has it. It’s only $99.99. They also have Sharp AQUOS blu-ray disc player and Nintendo Wii systems. Prices are very affordable. This sale is only while quantaties last. Don’t miss this chance.

Visited the New Place

Hubby already signed a lease agreement today at his lunch time. The owner of the house came to see him and he was able to signed some paper and paid advance pro rata for the this month. It's a bit costly paying two dwelling but it's better to do it now than to wait and will regret later. We are lucky at this point to get it. The search is over. Until next year, we'll see what happens.

A few hours ago, we checked the house. The place is bigger than what we are renting in the apartment. It is a duplex house. Our unit is at the back side. Two bedroom 1 bath. The living room has more space than the apartment, kitchen is far better and bigger, bathroom a little modern, tub is just okay. The big plus, 2 bedroom, washer and dryer, garage and the bonus a little backyard. It's really cool to get that place. Parking on the other hand is a little harder. But we can deal with it. The house right now is ready for us to move. We brought some boxes and some gym equipment today. Tomorrow will be another trip for some small light stuff. I can't wait when we can settle and just relax for the holiday.

Hilton Holiday Savings

My very first Hilton stay was when my husband booked a hotel at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Oahu, Hawaii. Our room was at the Rainbow tower. The hotel faces the ocean front. I believe in every room there is an ocean view. It was so nice. It was our honeymoon that made it so special. We stayed there for 4 days. In our early morning, we went for breakfast where they served delicious food. There were a number of restaurants to choose from. Shopping will not be less forgotten, so many stuff to buy and I did buy one pendant for a souvenir in my stay at the Hilton. The other hotels composing the village were so pretty laid too. It was one of the best moment of my life that I had able to stay in that great hotel.

Hiltonsocial-ad-300x400

If I would recommend, of course I do. It is one of the best hotels there is. Staff and employees are great. The rooms are design for modern taste which makes it very attractive for a stay. It is so easy to chill out. I have no hesitations to recommend any other hotels that the Hilton is promoting. In the Midwest, there are 2 of them that you must consider visiting. The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Either one of them is considered the best one to go to. They have holiday packages for the season. With just $159 a night at the Branson Convention Center, you will have the deluxe accommodations, breakfast for two and a gift card that you can chose whatever you desire that has their offer. It is reasonable for the price. For the kids on Christmas, one shouldn’t miss visiting. Santa will be coming at Branson Promenade. The package includes deluxe accommodations, gifts for registered children, breakfast for four, portrait with Santa, cookies and milk with only $189 a night. The price is right. You should consider this hotel if you are a frequent traveler to the Midwest. Mark this a note in your next travel.

Baby Party

My friends from San Jose organized a baby shower for Myrabel. The party started at 5pm. Joey dropped me past 5 and I saw Lyn at the door with her baby while Joy and Lalai we're still preparing. I saw Lyn holding a very nice camera. So nice of her to have such a good gadget. I know one day I can have mine too. Anyway, Lalai toured me her place. It's a good price for the size of the apartment. I think it could be bigger than the duplex unit we will going to move next week. I just like in our unit because it has it's washer and dryer and garage. A bit pricey too for an old unit but at least we can get out from the apartment we are living now. Anyway, back to the party. It was a good one. I had seen old faces and close friends. I had a good time hearing, talking, exchanging laughters with all of them. It's so good to attend a party where you can get a very good laugh.

There are pictures in the party that I edited. It's lucky I don't have so much packing to do so I have the time to edit some. Here are the outcome:

Malaysia Food Experience

I went to Penang Malaysia with 2 of my friends. We took our adventure and involved with some job hunting experience . We stayed in a condo where the main occupant was a Filipino too. She had helped us find a job but unfortunate to my friends I only ended up staying and working for a few months. So my food experience started the night I set foot to the country. My smelling sense that time gave me much of a problem. I throw up outside a food court where our nice escort offered us to ate. The smell of the place caused me to react badly. It probably because I wasn't exposed more with spices. Which in this state of mind and at this point, I know pretty much. That time, the smell of Indian spices negatively put my mind into a bad state.

With much no choice for food, I have to eat what there is to eat. I was introduced to Nasi Goreng one fine evening. It is like fried rice with some meat on it. There are a variety of meat to choose from shrimp, beef and pork. Pork is not much served in Malaysia. It is a muslim country so to respect with the muslim friends that had met along the way when invited for lunch or dinner pork was set aside. I had a hard time grasping the spicy food. My friends just explored their taste bud happily whereas I had difficulty coping finishing my food. It is the tradition that when a person invite you for a food treat, you need to eat what is their in your plate. I had a hard time on that. I always asked and said sorry. Even though I asked for a mild spicy meal, I can still taste the spiciness of the food. So with all my difficult times feeding myself, I've learned to find an alternative means to satisfy my stomach. I get into eating American food. A simple burger, fish fillet with chips, and pizza. If I just got bored, I ate less and go for fruits. I've learned my hard lesson staying there.

Yesterday, my husband took me to Bombay Garden an Indian buffet place. I wasn't much thrilled with the food. The chicken I had was good but with the curry Entree it wasn't just for me. I don't go very well with spicy. It is not because it doesn't have much flavor. It has lots of flavor but the spice just doesn't give the the excitement. Thinking back with my Malaysian experience, I believe that if I go there I think I would be able to taste their food and appreciate what I didn't before.

We're moving

It will be an interesting move this coming days so I might be able to make an entry here. You know how to move will be. You need to get all things transferred from cable, phone, and other utility bills as well as notifying the post office on the current new address. I am happy that we will now going to move. It will be a lot better in terms of space. I just hope the new neighbors will not caused us problems. I will update here as what it will be and how progressive we are.

Kind of busy

The 2 days that passed, work is a bit busy. The phone lines kept on ringing. I was glad that it did. It just made the day ran fast. My recycling paper wasn't that busy since we didn't have much dropped off. Quite slow for E-waste this month. I am hoping that it will gets better in the coming days. The director and I talked a bit today before she left for her meeting at our main office and she said that perhaps I might consider handing some brochure or putting some of it on cars. It could be one way of helping. Well, if the weather is right it will be effective to let people know we do need more stuff. But I am not really pushing myself hard on that. Besides my pay isn't that high and I have more work to do in the office. My time in the office already compensates my current pay. I am just lucky I have my job and that the people I worked with are cool and nice. I hope they will stay the same. I know how good they are except there is just one that I don't admire.

Kmart Layaway

The holidays are almost near. Before this month ends, we will spend Thanksgiving and over a month from now will be Christmas and the New Year. This season could be a time for gift giving. On the other hand, the downturn of the economy makes more families keen into spending less. I feel that people spend the things they need over the things they want. It is a good way though to deal with the current financial crisis. Though hard may it seems, there is still some ways consumers can buy without getting much into spending more with their credit cards high paying interest rate fees. The flexibility of paying can be at hand in Kmart Layaway program. They have the best position to offer this incentive and the only discount department store that offers layaway program.

I was not familiar on how this programs works until I read their website. It got me the interest to consider doing for the next coming days or a month from now. I also happen to see “Mr. Bluelight”. It reminds me of a friendly ghost from the movie Casper. He is very cute to look at.

Anyway, Kmart’s website is so much easy to understand about the layaway program. You will find a step by step procedure. There are a number of items you can choose to avail for this program. In terms of payment, instead of paying items in one time, you will have the option to pay it every 2 weeks or paying over an 8-week period. How smart it can be? In my opinion, I will go for this. Not only you can get the items in much an easy manner, paying it is much more convenient too. As for additional information for the holiday value here are the following you must watch for:

• Celebrations by Radko, a unique assortment of boxed glass ornaments exclusively for Kmart. The new collection by Christopher Radko®, the original manufacturer of handmade glass ornaments and holiday collectibles.
• Jaclyn Smith 100-percent cashmere sweaters
• Range of home electronic systems from Samsung, Sony and Panasonic – all at affordable prices
• Wide variety of the popular Joe Boxer apparel for the family, including fleece, loungewear and sleepwear

Yas Restaurant

My weekend I explored my palate of good stuff, FOOD! As much as I love to eat out and not cooking. The thing about weekend is I don't have the need to cook unless there's a need for me to do it. Before, I cook 3 times a day with different sets of menu. Since I started working, it went to one meals a day and that could be for dinner. I had that routine straight for 5 days. My cooking skills enhanced and I should say I have my own good palette. It takes awhile to know how good the food is. I've learned a bit from my bad meals. Let's just say through practice, I learned my ways to satisfy my husband's taste and of course my own.

Anyway, my first taste of persian cuisine was when I visited my husband's friend. One day he ordered us some at his place. He said it was koobedih. I said to myself, what kind of meat is that. My husband really was the one who explained to me what it is. First bite, I begun to love it. He told us that he ordered it from Yas. I remembered it yesterday so when we passed by the restaurant, I asked hubby if we can have a dinner there. He said yes. So we dine there at 6pm and I had my taste of delicious Chelo-kabab koobedih. This place is I think the best one I had. I tried Chatanoga and Chelokababi, it's not as good. The tenderness of the meat from Yas is just cook to perfection that makes it so good. It's a little bit pricey but if you taste more than what money you can get, why spending less.

Photo Edit

Yesterday, Eve my friend from Australia talked over voice chat in yahoo messenger. Our topic went a long long way. She's so much fun to talked to. With our friendship, we just happened to see once. But the one night event were we crossed our paths gave us a very good impression. Until this very month, we haven't seen each other in person. The friendship we built for few years could be a lifetime. Out of her request, she wanted me to edit something for her. The following photos are mixed of a professional and a glimpse of my friend's profile. Photo editing is one of my passion. The photos below are my very first try.

Repairpal

A few weeks ago, our car was hit in the back. Hubby was driving the car. I know how safely he drives. It just an incident that luck was not in our side. The person who had hit the car was too impatient and forgot to step on the break. The back bumper was deformed. It got some cracks on the side. He didn’t report it to the police but they had exchanged information. He called up our insurance and the issues were solved. So in this case, he looked elsewhere to find a good shop. It took him sometime to find the place and had it repaired. We had our car back just last Friday while for some days we were renting the same car. We were glad our insurance covered that.

I just found out today that there is a cool site that you can search into for car repair. It is very expensive to think about how this car maintenance can cost you. But at least with this site, it will give you an idea as to how much you will pay for in case you really need one. It makes me get very interested. I consider getting the car check for some other issues so the car repair estimates could really give me the amount to think about and will help me in my budget. The site also provides auto repair shops which is an additional bonus for research. I would give you an example for the car Ford F150 common problems and repair prices. Click the link and you can see that the owner has a ratings on the car performance. At the next line, you can read tabs from common problems, recall & TSBs, and owner reviews. This is just one of the many functions of the site that is very useful for car owners. If you happen to have some problems with your car, pay a visit to Repairpal.

Co-workers Birthday - Prolific Oven

Today is my co-worker Daniella's birthday. She had told me last week that it's her birthday today. Somehow again and again I keep on forgetting someone's birthday. I didn't buy her anything or just even buy her a card. So bad of me. Well, she just a recent employee and we are not very close so I could be at least in position missing it. I told my boss about it when he passed by our cube. Later, Liz asked Daniella for some food and handed her some menu. I was thinking this could be another birthday treat. Which my boss did and took us outside to Prolific Oven. I ordered a Sandwhich hot beef supreme. Daniela ordered Chinese Chicken Salad, Liz Pescado del Mar, and Andy my boss got Fettucini Primavera. I am glad that I tasted another place for food. It keeps my palate explore different kinds of cuisine. The food is just okay for me. Not that I could be in heaven eating but it's a good place to dine in. It's a small place. You will order your own food, seat in your own convenience and later food will be served. Not so fancy but it's okay.

Obama - President Elect

The election is over and now we have a President Elect Obama. I have been watching CBS News live news since 7pm. Though I have no rights to vote, but being part and living in the US to witness a victory of the first ever elected african-american in the highest seat in the white house makes a difference. I go for change. It doesn't matter what party you are in. What matters to me is how the elected President can make a change in moving forward with our bad economy. The country is in a very deep financial crisis. We, as part of the country must support whoever seats the government and hoping for a better change.

Thai Seafood - Santa Clara

I went out with hubby today to get some few extra hangers for the closet. We were doing a lot of laundry today. I got more clothes than I could imagine washing. It could probably be a year I haven't worn some of those. Sometimes I just wore one outfit once so it stayed in the laundry baskets for months. I should be doing what I need supposed to be doing but when the laziness strikes or I could get too busy from working it could not be done. It could be a less priority too.

Anyway, while we were doing some shopping. Right before entering the store, I saw a Thai Restaurant few distance away. I asked hubby that maybe we should try it sometime. He asked if I wanted for dinner. I said yes why not. So we went there to try it out. The place is small but it's cozy. The interior is very much like you are in Thailand. The lady who took us a seat is Thai too. She's very nice. We ordered beef bbq and pineapple fried rice with shrimp. The food was delicious. I like it very much. On top of that, we had a free ice cream for dessert. The restaurant is cool. I will go there again and probably invite a friend to dine. Here's the photos I took:

My Suit Made to measure

I know just very small details on mens’ suit. My husband did purchase a couple of suit before. When we were in the store he told me about what kind of button he wanted, the lapel, the size and the fabric. He mostly knew what he wanted while I don’t know much about it. I am just there to look at him and judged if the suit perfectly fit him.

Storefront_logo
The website from MySuitNY is a good way to a girlfriend or wife like me to understand how our partner or husband can be good with their sense of style. I took the tour on the buying process. I was amazed how detailed it was. So when I was browsing it, I visualize that the custom suit that best I could recommend to my husband is the double breasted jacket with the jacket details of peak lapel, center vent, besom pocket and kissing button. I choose the standard vest while the pants of single pleat and the black plain fabric 100% wool. It is easy to go over the site. It really helps me to understand the very details of the suit. The Made to measure makes it so well. I would recommend this site to many of my friend’s husband in the east coast. I am sure they would love to take a look into this since most of them don’t have the luxury of time to go to the off-the-rack stores. Or any man who often visited my site, take a visit and make your appointments. It’s easy, and fast. For two weeks time, you can get your suit with a very reasonable price just starting only for $495.
