Almost the year is over

To sum up my year this year is better than last year. I had visited the Philippines and able to see Hongkong. I made a tour on the island and it was a good experience. I did visit my Aunt and cousin in Los Angeles and enjoyed Universal Studio. Middle of the year, attended a wedding in New Jersey. I was able to see the neighboring city like Philadelphia and New York. I had a good memory in New York seeing wall street, ground zero, union square, the statue of liberty and liberty island. I was able to see Hershey's chocolate world too. It was nice to look back on those memories.

I hope there could be more exciting adventure in the next year. I am wishing there will be another new scenery to go as well.

4th Christmas

I am so grateful for the blessings I received this year and for bringing a partner in my life. It does make a difference. I don't spend it alone anymore. I am blessed with love and compassion. I spent my birthday yesterday by going to church in the morning. We had a breakfast at Amelia Cafe. When we got home, I opened all my friends gift and hubby's gift. It was such nice to get all what I got this year.

Before we went for dinner, we had a quick stop first at Wolf camera to buy some filter for my camera. We then drove to some nearby neighbors where we had a great time taking pictures with the Christmas decorations. We had spotted two recognized best house decorations. It was so nice.

We then dined in at Fiorillo's an Italian restaurant at the Alameda. I had Seafood Milano where hubby got Chicken Marsala. It was good. I had a good bite that night but still the serving was big so I ended having it to go. When we arrived at home, we finished opening more gifts, took pictures and I had a great time with my new karaoke machine from hubby. I love it.

Missing Phillippines

Now that I think about it, 3 years just ran past without celebrating the double party that could have been placed in Cebu. I don't have any complaints having it here in the US. I have friends here with me and my hubby that always surprise me with lots of stuff replaced the party that I usually get accustomed to. Just this year, I am kind of looking forward to spend the holidays in the PI. I don't think that could be possible. My job requires time and my husband's work needs it too. So both of us aren't free from taking holidays off. I wish I could go.

Birthday Get Together

I spent my birthday with a good memory. Majority all of my friends came. Just sad to say some of the friends who couldn't make it because their children were sick so they need to stay home and took care of their kids. I wish all could have come so it could be much merrier. But I was happy to see who came. It was all about talk and laughters. I was kind of exhausted with the days of preparation so my adrenaline was kind of low. I got the energy from my friends. It's another year of a good memory. It surely is for keeps.

Good to hear

I just got off from a phone call. I called my family back home. I miss all of them. I spoke with my mom, dad, 2 sis in law and my nephew. Part of the conversation was, I told my mom I send them some monetary gifts for the holidays. My mom is excited hearing about it. I could tell the reaction from her voice. I got all their good news with delight. I miss them very much. I wish I could spend the holidays with them someday. Only time can tell when. I would want to spend it with all of us intact. Wishful thinking!

I am still busy with the preparation. One more night to go and that's it. I hope majority can all come. I wish them to. Will see about that tomorrow. Til then..

Running out of time

I will be having a small get together with friends here. I am glad that people that I haven't expected to come will attend. I hope they all do but I can understand when they can't. Sometimes you can't just control what's happening from there and then. It could have been nice to see all those familiar faces which you get accustomed to, if not well I guess there will still be another day or year worth celebrating.

So I am a week before the party. I haven't done any shopping yet. My husband and I are so busy attending to clean our old apartment. There are a lot of things to be done there before the manager can check the place and decide which one needs a priority to take care. I pity Joey for coming home late. He greeted goodbye to me this morning and said he went home like 2am. It's just basically hours. He doesn't got so much sleep and I know he is very exhausted. We are both working so the only time we can go to the old place is after work. This week I wasn't much of a help because I am sick. Until now I still do. It's on and off. I hope next week I can fully recover and welcome my party with a good health.

Today, I am hoping to unpack more here in the new place and will go shopping for supplies. I hope my husband have a good news from the manager at the old place so it will not ruin our entire day today. So, it's time for me to go now. I need to do some arranging here first and will check later if I can. Thanks for reading.

Another Sick moments

This year I have been so sickly. Early part of the year and I believed it was a trip that I went to Cebu that I got cold, runny nose and fever. The trip was spoiled by my health. Occasionally, at work there were symptoms of frequent headache and stomach problems. It seems I can't avoid not taking time off.

Yesterday afternoon and whole day today, I wasn't able to work. I got hit from sore throat. It's so painful to swallow. I got stuffed nose today too so I forced myself to blow. I took some medicine for my headache yesterday and Bactidol to gargle. It relieved the pain. I was able to sleep. Today the entire afternoon, I was all in bed sleeping, I didn't know the time until I woke up at 5:25pm. Robitussin helped my throat and the body aches is a little bit bearable now. I think I can go to work tomorrow. Just in case, I will bring all the medicine I got. It's good that I got this symptoms earlier before my birthday and Christmas.

3-in-1

The night was so cold yesterday. I arrived with my husband at Suzzy's place past 6:30pm. It got hot with all the girls there. The night was so colorful with the laughter and cheers. These girls were just amazing. It's like you can get no problem hanging out with them. They are the coolest.

The party started with the delicious food cooked by the host and food brought by the guests. It was good. We just begun it with a talk and later Pacquiao's fight with Dela Hoya. The scream and cheers just exploded. I believed our voices can be heard a block away. I wondered what could the neighbors think about us.

We followed by an exchange gifts. Majority all of us participated. Everyone was happy with the gift. I was happy with what I got. It's a little fountain decor and fleece blanket. It perfectly fit me. I love fountain and blanket for the cold. I hate being cold. Anyway, it was a good thing to start an early Christmas spirit.

Last but not the least, the celebrant that was so blooming. An expected mother for the second time opened her gifts with delight. I had captured every moment of her time. I love taking pictures and I like taking it with people that I know and comfortable with. People are just so addicted with camera.

It was a great time to be with friends. I can't wait til another party which I will be hosting. 2 weeks from now hoping it will be a blast.

My Tree

I just finished last night putting the last pieces of ribbons for the tree. These decorations were my very first when I spent my 1st Christmas in the year 2005. This ornaments are significant because it will bring back memory how my hubby surprised me with gifts and our first as a couple. I am not sure if I will add more ornaments. I am thinking about a certain ornaments I want and if I can find it I will put it as additional. The only additional that I could add is for the 4th ornament this year. We already started buying one ornament to symbolize our marriage. Let's see what I can come up this year.

Photoblog 1

Since I got my camera which is the Nikon D80 I haven't really take pictures as much as I want to. As soon as I try shooting scene and objects, my mind got twisted on the function of the camera. I have been using canon point and shoot for the longest time so the feel of a Nikon is very different for me. Today, I was reading online at how to take some shots and some professional reviews about lenses. The lens makes a big difference on the feel of the pictures. I just have a basic lens that was already included in the package I bought. I would want to buy someday another lens for additional length. But right now, I need to get used first on the basic before moving forward to the next level.
I took this shot at home and I am playing with the ISO. Out of many shots I took this is just one example.

Christmas Thoughts

Christmas is nearly here. There could be gift giving and abundance of delicious food. People who have problems with blood pressure could get worst for the coming days so my advice will be to take extra pre- caution on that food intake. If too much can’t be avoided, buy this cool gadget called “keeping fit with wii fit”. You can burn calories from this and it’s one of the best instruments to keep fit and lose weight.

Most of us are joggling right now about gift ideas to buy for our loved ones. Christmas gifts is exciting to do. It’s so nice to see your family and relatives throw a smile with the gifts they received. Our country just announced recession in an indirect way. Being aware with the current condition financially, I will take consideration of putting a budget for Christmas. You will never know what could happen next. I don’t want to spend as if there is no tomorrow. I will spend my hard earned income wisely. The better savings I could get from discounts store the more I could be happier.

The items I am considering to buy are toys for children, perfume to some of my friends, perhaps food hamper to use for the house, and a new laptop if I have more extra money to spare. If only I have more money to spend and my earnings are high, I could buy my husband a Land Rover. He needs a car. Who knows where my luck goes, if I have that opportunity I could give this very nice gift for him.

Returning Monday

It's so busy today at work. The phone were non-stop in the morning. I have several special pick ups from the retrieve messages over the weekend that I joggle over answering phone calls. I pretty know well how to manage my time so I was able to do it stress free. It requires patience at times when you have too much work in a very limited time. I am just used to it right now so it's a bit easier for me now to adjust. My day were just so hectic with the phone. I will be doing some paperwork tomorrow for the month report. My boss is flexible with it so I will be okay if I will not submit it right away. It's so nice to be with a superior who knows where your work lies into.
