Thanksgiving 2009

This year my thanksgiving day was different than the usual celebration we did with my husband. For the past 4 years, we spent our days traveling to a certain place. Last year 2008, we didn’t have the chance to spend it somewhere else due to the fact we just moved to a new abode. We just dined in at Black Angus.

Now, with friends celebrating it was so much fun. I am very glad to have it with them. It’s a tradition to have it spend with family but since we both don’t have our family here nearby at most times it’s just us. I am thankful that my good friend Marife and her husband invited us to be with them. It is so nice of them. The food was great. We have the big traditional turkey on the table and other delicious food. My first time with friends make it so special on some way too.

Nike

When it comes to sports attire, my preference will be Nike. It’s the name brand I have no doubt about looking. Actually, it’s one of my favorite. My shopping experience in the mall will not be complete if I could not pop in to the store. That’s just how fanatic I am with the product. But, in today’s fast technology, my shopping can be so relaxing with the internet. If I have the need to get a new pair of shoes or shirts, I will just browse around with my laptop.

The particular site that I check at most times is Zappos. They promote a lot of name brands that it feels like shopping in the mall. It’s very fast too. You just have to type in the name of the brand you want. Like for example, if I check Nike I just go to the main page to the search engine. It’s very convenient. There is one item I certainly would like to have. The Free Trainer 7.0.3 that costs $80.10. It’s on sale too. I wish I could buy it now or maybe I would ask my husband to buy it for me. Gun Range

I had overpower my fears today about holding a real gun and able to shoot it. My very first experience in the gun range was nerve wracking but after a few times, it was like firecrackers. Somehow, if the sound comes from a near distance, probably I could get a kick but if it’s farther maybe not.

I went to Reed’s Indoor Range today. The location where it is at, it is just few blocks away from work. Coincidence and I amazed. I got in there. I signed up some paper form, choose a gun to rent and got inside. It’s a little bit tiny compare to the open range I went to. I was not there alone and hubby was very supportive. He taught me how and when to shoot. He is a good teacher. I fired a couple of times. Checked on it and there I saw some hits on the target. An old folk right beside us was observing and giving me tips and he was nice to do that. But after a time, I felt annoyed. He might just want somebody to talk to. By some means, I tried to focus and the last 2 sets of round I hit on target 3 times and most of my hits were closer together. I was able to use 2 guns and felt the difference of each kick. I liked the .22 caliber. It’s better and I have a good grip on my hand.

Another Sad Story

It was March when I lost one of my first fish Taffy. I had remembered how the feeling was and now I felt like I am going to have the same feeling. I bought Taffy together with Blue. The latter is the beta fish. For me, he is the smart fish. When I get home, I can see from the door looking to where he is that his excitedly swimming to get my attention. The body language I get makes me delighted to see that I am recognized by the fish. I had never seen a fish that could interact with a human. In some way this fish can.

Yesterday, hubby told me that one eye on his left is trying to pop out with some white pigments around the eyelids. I can sense that his not doing any good and he didn’t eat his food. When I got up today trying to eat my breakfast, I checked him again. This time the problem eye is getting worst and the other eye is having white pigments too. His fins are getting the same pigmentation and it’s all over. It’s the worst part to see him suffering. I don’t want to loose that fish but there’s no way for me to prevent it. I guess it’s his time. I will surely going to miss him.

Halloween Fun

It was my very first to wear a costume and spending time with friends. My costume is the version of the Bride of Frankenstein. Reviewing all the photos and clips from the original movie, I don't find it interesting to copy cat her. So I made to use a different thing to make it modern. With the help of my husband, he made my hair perfect for the costume. My friends did ask on how it was done. They were pretty surprised that Joe did it for me. They really liked it on me. That was a very good appreciation. I don't need much of those since there is no need to impress but the thing that people see you as they see you as you are, that's a big thing. So happy about that.

Hubby and I went to Shirley's spent a few hours there and friends invited me to join them at Zen in Mountain View. Hubby went home while I was with the girls. It was fun at the club. Listening to music and dancing. People were jamming really good. The downside of it, the music though doesn't really impress me. Though they played mostly good songs but the mixing was not impressive for me. Still, it didn't spoil the excitement I had since good friends were too cool enough to make the night so full of delight.
