Using the Computer

There was a time a few years ago that I encountered some problems with my old pc. The memory capacity of my computer was poor. The process of starting and turning off the computer was slow. I was being practical and patient to use it. I survived the years of using a slow computer. I only made the change and get a new one when I already had the hard time fixing it.

Before I purchased the new computer, I had been hit with a Trojan virus so bad. I could no longer access the pc. It would shut down itself. The difficult situation pushed me to try harder to solve the issues. The anti virus installed in the pc did the job. If not with anti virus software, it could have been useless and worthless. It could have been long gone and dead.

Somehow, I was able to reformat my computer. I did install all necessary software and back to running the pc. The incident helped me to remember and cautious about what websites to visit. When I am in doubt, I check the website first through some reliable review site. If I can see fraud or bad reviews about it, I will not make a second guess or bother to visit or read the site.

Brother

I have my new printer at home that I brought last year which is very different from the printer that I have previously. My last printer is from Brother and still working. I just bought a new one since the last time I used it to print, it was very urgent and my brother printer needs some cleaning. It was 2 years ago when I did print some materials. It was the time when we moved to a different location to live. Why I didn't use it now it's because the ink cartridges were stuck. It’s not a problem but just needs cleaning. When I was using it before, it really was a good printer. No problems with printing and faxing. There are other printers similar to it. The time I bought it was a good deal and I got to pay cheaper than it's normal price tag. It’s four in one. It will print, scan, fax, use as a phone unit and also has network connection. Right now, it still in the box but one day when I have plenty of time I will clean it and buy new ink again so I can use it. I won’t let it go since it’s in working condition.

Buying good quality printers like Brothers, you won’t regret it. The lifespan of the usage is long and the printing quality is really good. You will be happy if you purchase it because base on my experience it’s proven that it’s good. I am happy with it and I will keep it.

A new Gadget

I did shop for Black Friday though not too eager to show up early in the store. I went to Bestbuy in Sunnyvale with hubby. We already scouted some sites as to where to get the items we want. And we tried it there and lucky supplies are still available. Definitely the research was a good move. There was no impulse buying in our part. We went to the store and just buy what we have in mind. We got the canon printer.

Later on we decided to buy a desktop so we went to Fry's in Brokaw. We did not find the one we are looking for but we found a similar hard drive and bought it. When we got home, I was so excited to use the machine. I downloaded 2 softwares that I have which was just sitting for almost a year. I wasn't able to download it because my laptop's requirement is not compatible with the software. So I hold on to that software. I am glad that it got some use now with the desktop. Still, I need more software like the anti virus and microsoft office. In time it will be complete but for now, I can already use it for my editing.

New thing

New gadget, new technology and more inventions. I haven't come across this tiny little thing ever or I may fall behind with all the newest thing there is in the market. It's not all that is important anyway and so why go for the bandwagon if it's not very necessary.

This is MP3 WMA wireless Fm Modulator. You will just turn your car stereo on and tune the frequency the same as your Car MP3 player. Press the play bottom of the car MP3 player to enjoy music. Isn't that cool? I know you can use Ipod but can you imagine the gigantic difference of this one. It only cost less than $30 with the USB already. I don't know how much you can upload music by the 1G USB but I surely know it play more.

I only knew this when my brothers at home where using this. My younger brother gave this to my hubby so he can play it with his car. Eventually this will be mine. I haven't tested it yet to my car nor hubby but sooner when I can download the songs to the USB definitely I will be the one to test it first.

My new Gadget

Right after thanksgiving day last year, my hubby bought my very first laptop. Its a Sony Vaio. Not the very current or newly updated version but it has a some bigger capacity to use for what I love doing such as editing photos and creating movies. It took him time to search on what could be accessible for me and easy to use. He asked me on what certain functions I would need, and mind to tell you I am no computer savvy so it will just be fine. All I need is a little of bit power and more memory I could use the thing just fine.

When I traveled to Hongkong recently, at Causeway bay while looking for something. I was hitched by a shop and looked around for cellphones. I am too far behind on what's the latest on phones. The US market on phones are not very much on my taste. There is only one that I like and that's the Apple Iphone and for me I don't want to spend much on that alone. I tried not to liking to buy it and never did.

So I came across to see this small very light phone Nokia 5310. It's just like mp3. I begun to like it. I didn't buy it when I saw it because I was in between looking for another type until on the last day at the airport before I left going to Cebu. I stopped at a shop there and bought the phone.

Right now, I just opened it up and still looking into it's function. This will be my phone for years eheheh. I am not a gadget freak but once in a while it's good to have the latest thing.

The passion for music

At age 10, I remember my Aunt Ingrid from Manila gave my mom a Yamaha keyboard. Back then, it was just a very small piece of instrument where it had only few octaves and voices. It only carried a few. If my memory was right, I could recall only 4. But thinking about those time, my passion didn't focus on that right away. I had the interest first of stroking the guitar, learn to know the chords by heart. As young as I was, it was kind of difficult. No one taught me how to play and I was only self learning through the song book where we called it in Philippines "song hits". I didn't master any piece nor not even memorizing the chords. It was too hard for me and every time I pressed my left hand with the chords at a certain frets, the tiny little fingers I have got so much trouble and it was painful. I only knew then the basic chords and just plainly stroking notes in very simple way.

After days trying to know how to play, I just quit. I gave it up and on the other hand my big brother Aldin suddenly got interested. From then on, he never stopped knowing how to learn it. Days and nights he reads and understands every pieces of it. When he had all the informations he had on how to play with it, he changed to bass guitar where his passions lies on up to the very present day.

Going back to the day I gave up learning the guitar, the keyboard from my Aunt came. My mom decided to have me enrolled to home school for piano lessons. I wasn't to keen or not looking forward to it 3 times a week after school. That time, I would always want to play with my schoolmates. So I felt my childhood past times were deprived because I needed to come home. I got an old teacher but a very nice lady. She'd always gave so much praises for me. I was attentive to for I wanted our lessons to be quick and fast but not knowing it, the more I could do it fast the more lessons I could have. It was tougher day after day. I was given so much exercises that at a very young age, I did able to play less than a year with a song. The repertoire was classical but not as complicated. I was just given pieces that suited to my ability. My parents were proud of me and I could always remember the first song "More". That time, I was complaining because I didn't know it. I always got mad when they want to let me play. I got the hang of it til I forgot it.

In some point, the lessons were cut in short due to finances and burdens as well of getting the time in school as the years gone by. I stopped going to lessons and when I tried to come back, I kept on starting from very basic and the interest that I have when I was a child had gone. I don't feel the music in me but I still am learning to play when I got the chance. There was not a time, I didn't stop knowing to play. Yet, only just very simple pieces. But I came across in time, where I just shut it off.

Today, I am happy that my hubby gave me a present for Christmas which is a Yamaha. I didn't expect he could think back to search my passion. He will always looks something for an element of surprise and this time was a big shot. I cherished this moment and I love him even more.
A proud owner - present from hubby
