Buying Gifts for Loved One

Christmas shopping is in the air. I myself did my own shopping this week. It was a little tedious to find something for the loved ones. But it’s really good to give, so the time and effort of doing so makes it go away. Though I didn’t go to the mall, I was only driving around stores near where I live. It doesn’t save me time and gas but I was glad I got the most of it. I maybe have lack one item but I decided to get it later when it’s already available in the store I am hoping to get.

Not all of us are lucky enough to have a job and have extra money for the holiday. I am thankful in the sense that I have a job and have a little savings so spending is not a problem at this time. Shoe Shopping

On Sunday, hubby and I went to a shoe store near where we lived. It will take us 10 minutes to get there. Even if we have a little time and the store is almost closing, hubby was able to get what he wanted. He got 2 pairs of shoes while I didn’t get mine. I was browsing around from aisle to aisle looking what I could get for myself. I figured it’s not the best time for me yet. I can’t choose which brand and what style of shoes to wear. So I got no problem just to walk and check the latest style. It gave me an idea next time when I could have the time to pop in to that store again.

The time I was walking and browsing, I checked the boots section. They are abundant at this time. It’s not season yet but the store already displayed most of them in preparation for fall. I had stopped there for sometime. I checked the hiking boots, dressed boots and casual boots. I am planning to get a new pair of them soon. Though I already got some at home which was recently new that I also had worn a few times, I planned that this fall or before fall could start, I will get a comfortable boots. I had one I overly worn but in very usable condition. Before it could fail, I better donate it and make the shoe worth using for other people that needs it.

Excited to Shop

I am excited to do some kind of a shopping spree these coming days. I am excited because hubby will take care of paying. It’s so nice of him to offer. He said he has been lagging about it and treating me for something but I told him not to worry. I don’t complaint about it since I am working I can just buy what I want. But, I am a good spender. I only buy when I feel that there’s a need to.

Yesterday, I told hubby that I will go and buy myself some good shorts. My recent shorts that I happened to wore not even lasted for a quarter months I’ve grown with it. You can say that I really gained some pounds. Blame it to the halo-halo and the good food in the PI plus the ice cream, frapuccino and smoothies. What can I say bad food is just so good, right?

Anyway, I hope that my coming days to shop will be a good one and I can find good deals and good clothes. With the coming celebration on the 4^th, discounts and sales are everywhere! I will grab my opportunity when it comes.

A Cautious Approach to Santa

Going to see Santa is always an exciting experience but not always in a good way. I remember when the kids were tiny their reactions to the big guy and his big red suit were not as positive as I had anticipated. My youngest daughter was terrified of Santa and would not have anything to do with him. She didn't like him one bit and I'd already paid for a photo. I ended up sitting on Santa's lap myself and holding her in my lap on his lap, but the pictures showed a certain horror on her face that is unmistakable.

On another note please remember to lock the doors to lock your doors and turn on all burglar alarms (more information) in your home or car. My neighbors have been broken into several times this year, and I know during the holiday season those statistics go up. Keep an eye on your purse while seeing Santa and doing holiday shopping, even in the grocery store. Don't leave your pocket book in the shopping cart. I witnessed a purse getting taken out of a purse a few years ago that was left in a buggy at the grocery store. Always hang on to the baby stroller when the baby is in it, and use the safety straps. Never leave a child unattended. Hold the hands of smaller kids who are walking, and keep an eye on teens during Christmas shopping. Crime rates are up all over the country and unfortunately they always spike around the holiday season.

Clothing Store

What can I say about this? Oh great shopping! Though recently I have not been shopping for myself with new clothes. The fact that my weight makes me feel insecure. I am glad I still have clothes that I haven't worn in the past. I had not reserved all those clothes but it's just that the weight problem was the issue. It's either it won't fit and it's a bit big. With what was left in the closet are most of my friends gift and I am trying to fit in to the clothes.

Anyway, back to the main point of this post. I have some stores that I usually go around and check with. It's not necessary that I would buy but it's like getting whats the fashion trends. It gives me the idea what to wear in every event. I like dressing up and I always look for clothes that every one will not think of wearing or rare designs. I have this in mind because I don't want to be in a place where the clothes I wear and someone is wearing it too at the same time. I would be embarrassed. I think what makes it more ideal for me is to buy the clothes early enough and delay wearing the clothes. When the occasion comes, no one will be wearing the same thing. That's how I did it and I want to do it most likely. These days I am not. I only wear what I can wear now. I don't want to buy new clothes yet when I am still very insecure of my shape.

Prices on Car

Memorial Day is the time of month where many consumers would spend money on extra stuffs and things that are important or even not very necessary things in the house. It is quite an awaited part of the year for buyers to shop in the mall or at any designated places all over. It can be compared to shopping in the winter season. The discounts and sales are just around every corner of every store, consumers will really flock to look for items to purchase. You can think about a kid wanting to get a candy so badly.

The most commodities that people would look into are gadgets, electronics and cars. You can see a lot of advertisements from this stuff through online, street signs, and newspapers. Discounts are everywhere. I am thinking about looking into cars. My husband’s car is over beaten by old age and usage. It is still drivable and it really helps us all these years with no car payments. It is a much more savings on our end. But sometimes, there’s the fear that one day it will broke down dead on the road. Somehow we are assessing what’s good for us. Buying a new car can be a choice. My hubby likes the idea of getting a European car from Mercedez Benz, Audi and Bentley. The latter is quite an expensive for our budget. For the people who have more than what they can pay for, the bentley continental flying spur price is really good at this time of the year. They should be considering it.

It might take us a lot of thinking to do it but one thing for sure that we know of, this is the right time to buy. Your eyes might get big opening this post but don't. I am not a shopaholic. There are things that I need to buy and one of the reasons is to send the items bought to the Philippines for my family. I went Saturday with hubby. 40 minutes on the road from Santa Clara. There was a little bit traffic near Tully past 12:30pm. I thought we might not be able to make it to Gilroy with the congestion but it wasn't that bad after all.

We got there at 1:15pm. First went to Guess and I bought some tank tops courtesy of hubby. I am loving it and I haven't worn it yet. The weather these days just prevent me not to. Anyway, we stayed there just a few minutes and walk to the next shop Adidas. There I bought some stuff for my family. Just a few items for now. It's costly to splurge everything in one day and we might not have the need of it so I intend to watch our spending. The last stop was at Ann Taylor where I got my khaki pants. It's good for work. I need some new pants badly. It took me awhile to find it in some stores. I went to lots of jeans shop but the fit and length just don't satisfy me. I was also kind of tired walking for 2 hours and I felt quite exhausted so I stop at Ann Taylor and me and hubby went home after.

Buy Quality stuff

I love to shop clothes, shoes, and accessories. But shopping can be so expensive and I should say I am a wise bargain shopper. I can run away some clothes for a lesser value. For the money you spend for less, it could either have quality or not. It really depends on the budget. I would possibly look for the kind of clothes I would really like in a very reasonable price. It might take me a while to buy but when I do that would be it. Other times, when it comes to shoes and accessories, I rather spend a little more.

There are many branded names you could shop around either at the mall or online. These days with too hectic schedule from work and personal life, shopping online can be convenient. Personally, I would go for online buying. It’s not so much of a hassle to buy. Just a click and quick browsing work the tricks for me. I would have no worries adjusting my schedule. I just spend a little time and when I know what I want it’s just a matter of minutes to purchase.

The site I often visited is Zappos. They offer a lot of branded items and other quality products from different company. I know one company that I really admire buying is The North face. Their products are quality. A little more pricey than others but you can guarantee that the item you will be wearing can last for years. I have a friend who get used to buying their products and a regular buyer. It just tells me that if you have a positive feeling to one certain thing it can build relationship. This friend of mine keeps on buying their stuff and very satisfied buying it.

Valentines Day 2009

When I took off from work Friday afternoon, I hurriedly went to the mall to grabbed some chocolate for hubby. I went home without wasting my time inside though I wish I could have enough time to look around some good stuff but at the back of my mind I need to make a reservation. So I came home browsing and reading website for different restaurants. I booked 3 different places and I had one last Thursday too. So all in all I have 4 reserved and it's up to hubby to decide.

He came home at night searching for me while I was in the room busy folding the clean laundry. I never thought of a surprise until I saw what was on top of the dining table. A beautiful bouquet. It was nice of him to get some when his time was too limited. I really appreciate his thoughts. This time it's not all about white roses. It is a mixture of a dozen roses, calla lilies, different kind of fillings and a pink ribbon where there's an inscription of Love. A new bouquet that I wasn't used to but I loved it. I on the other hand surprised him with a gift. I wrapped it with a pink inscription of love too. It was an Ipod dock that he can used with his nano. He liked it and I was happy seeing him appreciating it.

On heart's day, in the morning I gave him a box of small godiva chocolates. He said I gave too much but I said no and responded with a hug and kisses. Before going out for dinner, he gave me a touchy card and dined at Fontana. While inside the restaurant he told me with another surprise of a shopping spree. That's very nice and unexpected.

Sunday was a bad day it was pouring rain. So decided to stay all day. But today, he asked me if I wanted to go for his treat and so we went to Gilroy premium outlet. I had bought a pair of shoe, dress and accessory. I felt bad about him not feeling so good and driving me while the weather was not really that good. But he wanted me to give what he had planned and I was happy about it.

First purchase

When it's new year or the 1st day of the month, my mom in the PI would always tell no spending and no going out. We are stocked in the house. She prepared and stocked food for us so we will not be asking anything from the store or somewhere else. It is the tradition for us. You may call it superstition but that's what my mom believed in. There was no argument in our part to contradict her wishes.

I just look back on that ways now I am living at a different country. There is no such thing like that here because everybody needs to work and be out of the house. Others need to purchase food and we did too. I don't think there is really relevance on why you will not spend on that day. I am not full blood superstitious.

Anyway, my first purchase for the year is some clothes. I used the gift card that I received from my birthday. It's nice to be able to get something new for the year. I am looking for another shopping this coming days. I will check with hubby on his promise that he will shop something for me.

Christmas Thoughts

Christmas is nearly here. There could be gift giving and abundance of delicious food. People who have problems with blood pressure could get worst for the coming days so my advice will be to take extra pre- caution on that food intake. If too much can’t be avoided, buy this cool gadget called “keeping fit with wii fit”. You can burn calories from this and it’s one of the best instruments to keep fit and lose weight.

Most of us are joggling right now about gift ideas to buy for our loved ones. Christmas gifts is exciting to do. It’s so nice to see your family and relatives throw a smile with the gifts they received. Our country just announced recession in an indirect way. Being aware with the current condition financially, I will take consideration of putting a budget for Christmas. You will never know what could happen next. I don’t want to spend as if there is no tomorrow. I will spend my hard earned income wisely. The better savings I could get from discounts store the more I could be happier.

The items I am considering to buy are toys for children, perfume to some of my friends, perhaps food hamper to use for the house, and a new laptop if I have more extra money to spare. If only I have more money to spend and my earnings are high, I could buy my husband a Land Rover. He needs a car. Who knows where my luck goes, if I have that opportunity I could give this very nice gift for him.

Black Friday

I didn't do much shopping yesterday. I just did shopping online. I don't want to be in the store lining up to get in and buy items in madness. I bought one item that I feel that is very important since I just bought few days ago my very first DSLR. I was so happy to get it online in a bargain. I can't wait to know it's functionality. Now I am imagining things what I can do with the camera and used it's maximum potential.

Last year, my hubby bought me the laptop I am using right now. Every year it's like I am having a new toy. Well, I believe I deserved to get one. I am sure hubby will agree on that. LOL! This year I bought some toys and other stuff I didn't have. I want to thank hubby for that too.

My friend Myrabel is 7 months pregnant now. I am happy when she told me that she’s carrying her first unborn child. Our common friends are excited too for her. Next month, we will organize a baby shower party for her. Perhaps, it will be a surprise. Right now, I am looking for a gift to give for the baby.

Running around

I was kind of busy today at work. My recycling paper work was loaded today. I spent time on it while jogging calls and phone dispatching. I am with the new employee. She's okay at work. My boss called me to check on my day and it's kind of him to do that. While the old man handle the closing of the building so I was free to go. I just shut down the system.

Before I could run my thoughts to something else, last night I had spent my time thinking what to give for hubby. I made a list and write some places where to go. After work, hubby already know about my plan that I will need to do some shopping. I made my stops and bought some. I then picked up my hubby from his job. I drove towards home and just dropped him off. I went to a couple of store bought the items on my list, gas up my car and head home. I am excited for this one. I hope hubby will appreciate my thoughts.

Scenic Tour

Our day started with a breakfast at Denny's. I had to taste eggs again. So yummy. Well you might ask why I said yummy? Because, I don't eat eggs as much as I want to. I am allergic to it but at times I have cravings I eat it though I know it will cause me rashes after. I am so happy to have that taste again today. I will just worry days after the effect of my bad choice today.

Let's forget about my health problems, will talk about what my day is. The day hasn't ended yet and we will be going out tonight for dinner at Cannery Row. But before I could talk on that later, I will let you know where and what did I do few hours ago. Hubby and I went to Carmel. We walked around some shops, took pictures and I got a surprise from hubby who bought a purse for me. My smile were wide. How can you not smile right? Women are fascinated with gifts especially good quality upscale accessories. I love him very dearly today. LOL!

Anyway, after my heart widening for happiness. We had a little time inside a coffee shop. We had a good drink there. I had finished mine and decided to stroll a little more with the shops and drove to 17 mile drive. The view was so fantastic. I had seen huge mansion multi millionaire houses and golf courses. It was a good drive up there. We also witnessed a wedding at one of the point stop. It was a very romantic wedding. They were lucky that the weather was nice. We passed by pacific grove and once again love the Victorian houses, trees and the beach.

Almost fall

It has been days that I felt the chill in my spine. Mean one thing then, that summer will going to end next month and fall would come in. It will be a change of outfit from fashionable people or taking away the summer clothes and bringing back the sweatshirts, hoods, leggings, boots, feathers and coats.

I went to the mall with hubby today. I was kind of looking something to wear for new collection. I was browsing few stores. I have observed the displays are getting close to winter collection. I wasn't so thrilled to buy. My mind is not yet done with the summer outfits or classic clothing that you can wear any season of the year. I didn't find what I was hoping for so I went home a little bit disappointment. Maybe another time, I can buy a new collection for winter. I have to hold on for now and check later again.

Fashion Sense

Some people say I have the sense in fashion. Glad to hear a good compliment in that manner. But I tell you, I don't have the style in my own while growing up. It was the people around me who dressed me up. When I was younger, in school my mom would buy some dressy clothes far from what my other classmate wore. She got all that style too though she decently dressed. In our family, it's just me and my mom who thinks about clothes and shopping. My dad and my siblings are in the same gender so all of them goes together. It's just me and my mom who loves to go around the mall and checking some stuff.

Even growing up, I don't know what other people would wear and I don't care much on what style other people are wearing. All I care was I wear decent and clean. There's no fashion magazine I would buy to care and to look for. I had my mom who will do the style for me.

It was years of not knowing what fashion really means. Until, I had some female friends who were really updated with fashion. When I looked at them, they looked so glamorous. I asked them on how they've managed to spend when looking at their clothes I felt it was expensive. They taught me how to follow what the trends and play it with the own taste of style in low price amount. I begun to search how one store differs from the other and find items that were uniquely created.

I had my disaster moment and it's part of knowing how to improve yourself. Up to this day, there are days I would care less on my style as long as I feel comfortable. But I prefer to be really good when going out. If you will see me just some jeans, shirt and no make up, it will only mean that I just try to feel comfy without minding to be feeling beautiful. When I do feel like there's a need for me to be dressy, I will shop and find that suitable design.

You don't need to buy expensive branded names. All you need is some style and be comfortable. Some stores I frequently visited: Styles for Less, Wetseal, Forever21, Charlotte Russ, Papaya. They're cheap easy to wear and up to date.
