My head spins

Daniella my co-worker left to Arizona on Thursday leaving me behind alone working on a friday. I got a help from the Director. It's quite uncomfortable having her at the other desk helping me getting the calls but I am so very grateful that she was there for the support. I had a busy day and I was glad I didn't get so much bad donors.

Today was a spin day for me. Early start hour within 30 minutes I started turning the phones on, the 2 lines were blinking non stop. Richard the manager of the drivers were helping me to get the other phone lines on hold. My boss arrived after 30 minutes which I was still joggling the calls but I did get help after that. We got a new temp and she arrived 10 minutes before 10am. She was being interviewed and later then my boss trained her for the job. I was still on the phone majority taking all the calls. Busy day for me and my head spins more not until I got a call from this crazy guy. I can't imagine how bad mentally he is. The story that we were discussing just keep on rolling with the same conversation. It is so painful to be in the situation I was already tensed and I hanged up. Later he called back and Liz picked up the phone. Same thing happen he just keep on talking and talking. The boss finally picked up the phone from us. He told the man to stopped bothering us for we can't no longer help him. He suggested that if he want to make any other comments with our service he better call the police so someone can speak with him. The man just said to him 'you will sue me or kill me?'. His sick and with the talk I was with him I had trembled for several minutes because I was angry and my blood rises.

There are just so many crazy people in the world that you can find anywhere. I hope families who has sickly family member will take notice of it and don't let them get away in the real world. It just make me get angry thinking about it.

4th tag Edition

I got this tag from a newly friend Donabel. I haven't seen her in person but we at most times chat. There are a couple of things and life experiences we are both alike. I am glad that my friend Hazel introduced me to her. She just lives close by and one of these I will pay her a visit so she can vent some more to me. LOL! Donabel, thanks for being there and hopefully we can get along pretty well.

Not doing good here

I used to write everyday and when chance drives me by in a day I grabbed my laptop and tickling my fingers over the keyboard. These few weeks or maybe it has been happening for the last few months that my post are starting to decrease. At most times, it's my work drained my head. I work most of the time using the computer and using it at home just kills my eyes. Glad that for some time now I didn't get headaches. I hope it will not reborn in my system. I believe I am handling better the stress I get from work no matter how harsh the day sometimes. I know working there is just temporary. I am holding the benefit that I get and the experience I learned. It is a blessing to be able to work, get paid and gain new skills.

I will try my best to visit my friends site here and extend some greetings too. I am very disappointed not doing any good about it. I have lots of task to do from tags that I received. I know one day I can work on it. I hope to my friends out there and for other readers, I hope you will be patient enough. There will be a day when I get back rolling lots of posts again and get on track writing paid blogs. I missed a lot of OP's and it just ain't right not doing it. To my friends, bloggers, and unknown readers promise I will visiting you soon.

Fog

Since I started working everyday from M-F I droved to work 20 minutes before 8am. The distance to my house to work is just 4 miles away. Due to the many traffic lights and stops along the way I had to put an allowance on the time. I am very diligent working early. The 18months I been doing this, not a chance where I was late. Too lucky that I work very close to home.

Yesterday, it was foggy. It was a bit heavier than my previous experience. I left the house 7:42am walked to the driveway and went to the car. It was misty so I wiped with bare hands both the driver and passenger side mirror and get inside. I turned on the engine wiped my rear window and front. I waited few minutes to heat up the engine. Then droved. I was scared a little to drove when I couldn't see too far. I slowed my driving to be very cautious. Other drivers did the same thing. While I was in my seat, it refreshed to memory how my husband taught me to drive safe in that kind of weather condition. I was glad I had remembered what he told me so I felt better steering the wheels on my car. The winter this year was so colder than the first year I started working. With the fog coming in, it is really better to get extra careful and watch other drivers who are driving fast in that condition.

Missing Phillippines

Now that I think about it, 3 years just ran past without celebrating the double party that could have been placed in Cebu. I don't have any complaints having it here in the US. I have friends here with me and my hubby that always surprise me with lots of stuff replaced the party that I usually get accustomed to. Just this year, I am kind of looking forward to spend the holidays in the PI. I don't think that could be possible. My job requires time and my husband's work needs it too. So both of us aren't free from taking holidays off. I wish I could go.

Good to hear

I just got off from a phone call. I called my family back home. I miss all of them. I spoke with my mom, dad, 2 sis in law and my nephew. Part of the conversation was, I told my mom I send them some monetary gifts for the holidays. My mom is excited hearing about it. I could tell the reaction from her voice. I got all their good news with delight. I miss them very much. I wish I could spend the holidays with them someday. Only time can tell when. I would want to spend it with all of us intact. Wishful thinking!

I am still busy with the preparation. One more night to go and that's it. I hope majority can all come. I wish them to. Will see about that tomorrow. Til then..

Another Sick moments

This year I have been so sickly. Early part of the year and I believed it was a trip that I went to Cebu that I got cold, runny nose and fever. The trip was spoiled by my health. Occasionally, at work there were symptoms of frequent headache and stomach problems. It seems I can't avoid not taking time off.

Yesterday afternoon and whole day today, I wasn't able to work. I got hit from sore throat. It's so painful to swallow. I got stuffed nose today too so I forced myself to blow. I took some medicine for my headache yesterday and Bactidol to gargle. It relieved the pain. I was able to sleep. Today the entire afternoon, I was all in bed sleeping, I didn't know the time until I woke up at 5:25pm. Robitussin helped my throat and the body aches is a little bit bearable now. I think I can go to work tomorrow. Just in case, I will bring all the medicine I got. It's good that I got this symptoms earlier before my birthday and Christmas.

Returning Monday

It's so busy today at work. The phone were non-stop in the morning. I have several special pick ups from the retrieve messages over the weekend that I joggle over answering phone calls. I pretty know well how to manage my time so I was able to do it stress free. It requires patience at times when you have too much work in a very limited time. I am just used to it right now so it's a bit easier for me now to adjust. My day were just so hectic with the phone. I will be doing some paperwork tomorrow for the month report. My boss is flexible with it so I will be okay if I will not submit it right away. It's so nice to be with a superior who knows where your work lies into.

Staying Home For the Holidays

The moved was tiring so hubby and I decided not to spend a get away trip for Thanksgiving. Or probably it could change but not certain. I rather stay in the house unpack our boxes and re- arrange the things that right now hasn't moved for days. I would want the things to be tidy for the coming days. Christmas is coming and I want to open the holidays with positive spirit. I don't know if I will handle a party for my birthday yet. I will talk to hubby first if we would want to. I guess I need a trip somewhere. I want to relax and just be with nature.

Lazy Sunday

The weather is a bit chilly today. I don't feel like going out. I just feel being comfortable here at home watch tv and spending time with hubby. I also need to catch up with my online site to write something for money. How nice could that be right? Just to write your thoughts and someone will pay what you love doing. It's my pleasure to do it. I have some couple of Op that I already missed days ago since I was so busy and no time for it. Today I just need to watch all the Op and try to write something. It's a part time job that is good when you need some money to spend other things. The good thing too, you don't need to be in the office to do it. Just use your computer and you are ready to work on it. Anyway, I need to look for Op now.

Able to Achieve

I'm glad that the weekend is over. It was a good experience. Our thing was to achieve the fulfillment of getting to relax and just do nothing very significant in the same time satisfying our day in Monterey. We stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. The food experience was awesome and the view was spectacular. The remaining 2 days just spent at home doing nothing. LOL! But I got a little work from my job to retrieve messages over the weekend so it occupied my time a bit. The rest of the times where spent in my laptop editing pictures, chatting with friends and visiting some friend site. Tomorrow will be a busy day for me and I hope I will not be stressed. Cross fingers :)

Relaxing day

I stayed all day in the house. Just watch tv the olympics and food network channel. I also chat some few friends who got online and talk to friends over the phone. It is just a very relaxing day with no stress away from work and the people that give me stress. I love when I am not working and just be myself peacefully. I hope Monday can be a better day though I know it will be a lot crazy day for me.

Reflection

Last Tuesdsay, I attended an employee orientation at one of our location site in San Jose. The hours conducted between 9am until 4pm. It started with an opening of a video presentation which I already did see last year when I attended a company retreat at another location. My work might be so hard at times when complaints rattled my day but the thought of those people who have developmental disabilities won't compete how the care taker of those people managed them. In our company they are the heroes. It is a very hard task to be able to take patient to take care of people who doesn't guarantee any in return.

We are lucky to be born normal. To be healthy and able to do what we would want to do. It is fortunate of us that we can take care of ourselves not to depend on other people. With the people who has disabilities they would not able to do what they can without somebody to assist them. There are stages of disabilities and categories them in nature. I admire to those who can be able to talk, has mobility and a mind of his/her own.

At my job, we provide services for this people. We are a non profit organization so the funds that we get are fundings from the government, donations and other company strategies. I am touched on how I am being employed and how great it is to have that privilege to be part of the organization where the vision is to give services to those who really in need the most.

Life After Glamour

When I visited my cousin Dennis in LA, I got a lot of good points from him. He is my mentor in some way. I looked up to his success. For years we had lost touch, but when I spoke with him 2 years ago the time I arrived here from the Philippines his still the same cool cousin that I know of. Other people would change their lifestyle here and lost their humble beginnings feeling they’re the greatest most achiever. I can’t blame them for all the good opportunities here. You can get what you want here if striving hard is your cup of tea. But at times, it’s quite awkward to see other people bragging to lots of things especially if they never really own nothing.

My cousin was a previous Hotel Manager in Cebu Marriott, became an international consultant for Hotels and came here to the US to manage Beverly Hotel. He got tired of managing the hotel. He believed there is something out there for him. He studied nursing and able to finish the course passed the practical nursing licensure. He left the hotel replacing to manage a pediatrician hospital somewhere in LA. He’s a very workaholic person doing 2 jobs to sustain some “charities” we called it for our family back home.

He missed his glamour life in the Philippines. I remembered him renovating their old house and built his experimental house. When it was done, he gathered so many parties full of champagne and great food catering service. His life was so fabulous that he always travel to ASIA here in the US and other parts of the world. It was the life he missed but when I asked him if he wanted to get back to that kind of life he said no. He said that living a simple now finds him solace and contentment. His happy of what he has and helping others give him great pride. I am so touched with that. For a day to be with him, it gives me some reality to reflect on myself too. How will I build my own contentment in life? A question I am still looking to achieve in the future.

No fun but ok

Work is been okay for the past few days except last week’s Monday. It was terrible I feel like quitting on the spot. If not for the director’s encouragement and kind heart I could not survive in the company. I haven’t submitted my resignation yet but it will come. I am just finishing my job what the director told me to do so. This project involves a waiting period before we could start on and settle on it. I wanted to leave the company when the proposal is working or if not at least I could have finished doing what I must need to do. As long as this boss of mine will not keep on jumping guns on me, I could be fine. Leaving a company is not so great and I want to make sure that if I leave I made all projects and responsibility done. I need that good recommendation from the director since this is my very first job.

No fun today but it’s an okay feeling to work with no boss pressuring. But tomorrow will be a busy day for me since I will do 1 week route schedule for the month of June. It is a challenging responsibility to set up a schedule for each location in a given day. My analytical skill is measured on this. I was very scared at first if I can really do it especially you need to use your brain and judgment. I just want to do the job that’s very typical but my boss wants me to do something else so he gave me this task. I like it because it will add up my other skills. I wonder what other thing I could do to help them but more with helping myself to improve on other skills. It’s quite a difficult thing to find something you don’t know that might help you to become a better employee.

Award

I just this from my new friend Fel. Thank you girl. I know I have a lot of tags from you. I will take it one at a time ha. Please bare with my being slow. I will keep up when I really have much time. In a few weeks perhaps I can do it all.

Now I am awarding Resebel & Belle my old time buddies here in blogspot.

Time to Shop

July is coming very near. I will attend my husband's niece Alicia for her wedding this July 4th. Amazing how she booked her date right on the very day of Independence? She’s a smart girl. She wants all of us to have the time so we can come to her wedding. This is already planned 2 years ago while Joe and I were preparing for our wedding. We made a promised to her that we will attend whatever date she wished to set for her own. I met Scott her fiancé and both of them were at my bridal party. They're a good couple.

So today, hubby and I will find something to wear for the wedding. I know it's a bit early but who knows we might not get what we wanted today. It is better to shop early than to cram when the date is near. We will try to go to Palo Alto at Stand Ford Mall. It is a pricy little shopping mall. There’s one shop there that I am very interested to visit. I hope it is still there. I wanted to buy a dress that is simple, elegant and affordable. I can only wear dressy clothes at most times once so it is not very practical to buy the most lavish and pricy. It is not worth it. I know one thing, it is not on how much would it cost you to buy it but on how good it looks on you. I hope I can find it today just one stop.

Thinking ahead

I just came home from work. I was so busy with mailing a lot of letters for a proposal that me and the director is working on. Hopefully we can have much results on it. Just glad for few days the boss didn't give me a hard time. The first day of this week, I was burn into flame with his attitude but for the remaining days he became soft at heart. I can still see how weak he is. It would show how he can't handle so much pressure. But so far I don't have issue at this time. My thinking of resigning is still on the process. I need to go first to take the employees orientation this coming Tuesday just the sake of it. I will not give them a surprise yet. I will do it for sure but just waiting for the right moment. I am sure by June that could be a good time.

It's not exciting to quit and find another job again. This could be the best decision for me to make and hopefully I can find something that I am looking for. I hope God will hear my prayers. I know I need a break from all the stress that I get from this job. I deserved to rest for awhile, enjoy my time and will move to push through to the next plan.

Affected by heatwave

Waking up today was better, but once again in the middle of the night my husband woke me up letting me know that I had nightmares again. It had been like that this few days. I need to go to church and light some candles. Maybe some of my departed loved ones wanted my prayers and God wanted me to visit him. I will try to do that this Sunday. I hope I can and will not get lazy. There’s no room for laziness I know but somehow I just can’t help it when I need more time to sleep.

The weather today is very hot reaching 99F. It’s dry and I subconsciously was ready to experience it. My husband and I planned our small living apartment to get a little bit cooler. There’s no central air conditioning system in the apartment but we have AC in our room. What we did is to run it all morning with closed door. When hubby came home for lunch, he told me he had opened the door. The air flows to the dining and the living room. It helped to get comfortable in the living room but still it is hot.

I hope I will not get a severe headache today. My previous 2 nights, I wasn’t able to get myself well rested. I took some pills. Put some cold damp wash cloth on my forehead just to make me fall asleep. I wish tonight will be different, but I need some cold drinks or an ice cream to cool down my head and body later. Forget about the diet, it's better to fight this heatwave with an ice cream or die from heat stroke.

Summer is Here

It’s getting warmer day by day. Today as I went outside from work, I felt the heat. Going inside the car, it was like I am inside an oven 100F. It is still bearable but reading the weather forecast, it will reach 100’s in the days ahead. I wonder how will my head going to take it. I’m just hoping that it will not so dry. A little help of the wind breeze can soothe better. I pity for those people, who has no air condition in their place. Weather like this, it is a must. And as for me, I need it the most. Or else, my head will explode. I wish heat wave will not be so bad this year. I might not be able to take it. I am just glad that it’s already summer and I feel like being in Cebu.

It is time for the shorts, tank tops, swimsuits, big sun glasses, huge hats, flip flops, sun lotion, and of course water. Don’t get dehydrate in this time of season. It will be so nice to enjoy the weather like this. Make the most of the sunshine, the beach and the coolest people you will hang out with for it is fun and exciting. Enjoy yourself just like I am enjoying it now.
